The closest beach to São Paulo is in the city of
Guarujá,
which is located approximately 1 hour from São Paulo. You'll find this city is very busy on weekends and holidays because of its close proximity to São Paulo. However once you reach the coastline many more less populated beaches aren't too far away. Following the road further north will bring you to
Camburi,
Maresias,
and a major surfing community -
Ubatuba.
