it's the location of many tall, expensive, and extravagant buildings. Since 1990 the citizens of São Paulo have considered Paulista Avenue the symbol of their city, and many feel Paulista Avenue is more of a citizen-owned area. The avenue is a source of great pride for the
Paulistas.
At night Paulista Avenue is a wonderful street to drive and see São Paulo's beautiful city lights. By day, however, Paulista Avenue is best explored on foot. Traffic along the avenue is intense from dusk till dawn. The
subway
is the best way to get to Paulista Avenue, and exploring on foot is an easy walk because it's not very long.
