Paulista Avenue
My Paulista Avenue Experience
Visiting a city of 18 million and standing there on
Avenida Paulista
for the first time was an overwhelming feeling. It was then that the realization and enormity of it all hit me. The buildings were all extremely tall, the traffic so loud, and the seemingly endless stream of people everywhere - everywhere!
After that brief moment of panic I began to calm down and enjoy what Paulista Avenue had to offer. Walking along the avenue I took in the commercial area of São Paulo, home to radio and TV stations, museums, churches, and major office buildings.
Along the way I decided to stop in at one of the museums. The museum I happened to pick had an interesting art exhibit with very modern and intriguing displays. I would certainly recommend such museums to serious art critics - of which I am not, but it was still enjoyable. Further along Paulista Avenue I took in a little shopping at a few of the many centers.
Overall,
Paulista Avenue
is a great place to visit. Personally I'm more of a beach lover, but taking a break from the sand an surf to explore the city is a must. This street is so famous that it would be ashame to miss it. I'm certainly glad that I took it in, I'll never forget my experience there.

Sao Paulo is located in the south-eastern corner of Brazil, in the state of Sao Paulo. This great city is particularly famous for Paulista Avenue; its magnificent churches, museums, and cultural events; its soccer teams; and the São Paulo Carnival.
