Cojunto National, was the first commercial building built on Paulista Avenue in 1958, and is thought to be the first shopping mall in Latin America. Cojunto National consists of two buildings. One of which is a tall tower standing 25 stories high divided into three sections, and the other a smaller wider building standing 8 stories tall. Today these buildings are used by over 450 businesses, and the embassies of France, Belgium, Greece, Italy, and Portugal.
Casa das Rosas, otherwise known as "The Pink House," is a very popular mansion located on Paulista Avenue near the Brigadeiro
subway
station. The mansion was built in 1937 and is an excellent example of Art Nouveau architecture, made all the more impressive with an incredible stained glass window which nicely compliments the decor. The surrounding estate consists of beautiful gardens, of which the rose gardens are the highlight. The mansion was a private residence through to 1986, at which point it became property of the state of São Paulo and subsequently turned into a cultural center. Throughout the year there are many interesting art exhibitions held at the mansion.
Siqueira Campos Park or Trianon Park is a delightful place, located immediately across the street from Museum of Art in São Paulo. It's difficult to believe but this park is located just off Paulista Avenue - one of the busiest locations in São Paulo. Tourists and citizens frequent this park in seek of relaxation and to enjoy the 50,000 sq yards (45,000 square meters) of Brazilian Atlantic Forest. This park is one of the smallest parks located in
São Paulo,
but it's a wonderful place to get away from the streets and traffic of
Avenida Paulista.
