Villa-Lobos Park was founded in 1991 and is located in the High Pinheiros area between Nações Unidas and Foneca Rodrigues Avenues. It’s easy to access this park; its location is close to Pinheiros Marginal and the famous Ceagesp Street Market. Villa-Lobos Park covers an area of 182 acres (74 hectares), but only 56% can be accessed by the public. Villa-Lobos Park is a vast area covered with trees and huge flower beds. By the end of 2005 the entire area will be open to visitors.

Villa-Lobos receives approximately 4,000 people every weekday and during the weekend this number increases to 20,000 visitors on Saturdays and 30,000 on Sundays. The main attraction in Villa-Lobos Park is the 3,000 meter jogging track. Most people come to Villa-Lobos to work out, run or even walk their dogs. The 1,650 meter bicycle track is one of the many tourist attractions bringing people to Lobos Park every day.

Villa-Lobos Park was the first park in São Paulo built to offer facilities to the handicapped. The park is flat, allowing easier access for people with disabilities. A flat walking track makes it accessible to wheelchairs. Every information board throughout the park offers braille, allowing blind people to go to the park and know where to go and have an enjoyable experience.

Some of the facilities that are offered in the park include: a parking lot with 750 spots, snack bars, barbecue areas, auditoriums, gymnastics equipment, basketball courts, volleyball sand courts, a climbing wall, soccer courts, soccer fields, a playground located in the entrance of the park, and several tennis courts. The popular event called The São Paulo Open, a Tennis Tournament is always held at Villa-Lobos Park.

Villa-Lobos is located in a very busy area of São Paulo City, but once inside the park, it is easy to forget about the craziness of the city, and just relax in the peaceful environment of the park.
