This amusement park offers more than 30 major attractions, including attractions for kids, teenagers, and adults. The most popular attractions at Playcenter include: Waimea (a water attraction), Skycoaster, various roller-coasters, bungee jumping, the Turbo Drop Elevator Tower, and IMAX. Playcenter also holds special annual events, the most popular of which is the "Nights of Terror" or "Horror Nights." During the "Nights of Terror" the park hours are extended and visitors enjoy exploring the castle of horror. On this special night Playcenter lets their monsters lurk the grounds, scaring unsuspecting visitors. Sometimes these monsters are hiding behind walls, around corners, or in tunnels - always ready to prey upon unsuspecting souls.
Playcenter began holding the "Nights of Terror" in 1988. Since then the amusement park has seen a sharp increase in the number of visitors, largely attributed to this special event. The "Nights of Terror" has been so successful that in 2004 Playcenter decided to hold this event two times per year. The first horror night is held in April and the second in the August - September time frame.
In addition to all these great attractions, Playcenter offers restaurants, shops, baby carts, and many washrooms - everything you need to have an enjoyable day.
Playcenter is closed Tuesday and Wednesday, on the other days the hours of operation vary throughout the year, so check on-line or call before visiting the park.
