Leblon Beach
Rio Beaches
Leblon and
Ipanema
share the same stretch of Brazilian beach, but the
two are divided by Allah's Gardens and a shallow canal. Just up from the beach you'll find the neighborhood of Leblon. This community is separated into two parts, upper Leblon and lower Leblon. Upper Leblon is a wealthy residential neighborhood with beautiful houses and quaint cobblestone streets. In contrast, lower Leblon is a center for nightlife activity, including many bars, pubs, and pizzerias. Lower Leblon is a popular place for tourists to stay when visiting
Rio de Janeiro
and a great place to party into the wee hours of the morning.
Walking along Leblon beach is one of the more popular ways for Brazilian women and men to keep themselves active. It's a very picturesque beach, you'll find a lookout here where you can take beautiful pictures of Leblon and
Ipanema.
This beach is located close to one of Rio's many favelas. For this reason it's important to keep your valuables in a
safe place
when visiting.
