Sugar Loaf
actually consists of two mountains, each accessible by cable car. The adventure begins at Red Beach, where you take the first cable car up to the top of Urca Mountain. At the top of Urca Mountain you have the opportunity to walk around and enjoy the gardens and the view of
Rio de Janeiro.
From here you transfer onto the second cable car which takes you to the very top of Sugar Loaf Mountain, 1,296 ft (395m) above sea level.

From the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain you have a phenomenal panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro. On a clear day you are able to see the
Statue of Christ,
Guanabara Bay,
Copacabana Beach,
Ipanema Beach,
Leme Beach,
Flamengo, Gava Rock, Rio-Niteroi Bridge, and the list goes on and on. Also at the top of Sugar Loaf there are restaurants and gift shops. The gift shops have a collection of souvenirs at very affordable prices; it's a unique chance to pick-up a little Sugar Loaf Mountain memorabilia.
A recently new event that Sugar Loaf offers is Carioca Nights. This is a concert that brings famous performers to the top of the Sugar Loaf Mountain for special occasions. Giving tourists the chance to experience Brazilian music and culture.
