Guanabara Bay is located on the north side of Rio de Janeiro, close to the historical downtown. Unfortunately the beach at Guanabara Bay isn't suitable for swimming because of a very busy marina. However, don't think there isn't anything to do! There are many boat tours, fishing trips, and passenger services that start from Guanabara Bay. If you're looking for a break from the city, consider a boat tour to one of the surrounding islands, or simply visit Guanabara Bay and enjoy watching the boats coming and going.

For the avid boater or avid fisherman Guanabara Bay is certainly a place you don't want to miss.
