Postal & Telegraphic Museum
Post Office University
The Postal and Telegraphic Museum was created on January 15th, 1980 with the intention of preserving and promoting stamps created and used by Brazilian Post Offices. On June 8th, 2001 the Museum was closed to the public; then on April 20, 2002 all its collections were transferred to the Post Office University, also located in the city of Brasilia - this became its new home.
The Museum not only shows an amazing array of Brazilian stamps, but also a collection of stamps from throughout the world. When visiting this museum you'll learn a lot of the history and culture of
Brazil.
At the museum you can hear about some very interesting (often amazing) stories regarding the Post Office in Brazil. Today, the main goal of the Postal and Telegraphic Museum is to increase interest and appreciation of stamp collection.
