Gems National Museum
Museu National de Gemas
The Gems National Museum (Museu National de Gemas) was inaugurated on October 24th, 1996. It has approximately 3,000 gems both polished and natural. The illumination of gems with fiber optics makes this museum unique in Brazil and also the 3rd museum in the world to use this special process. In this museum you'll see a permanent display of precious rocks of all kinds, sizes and colors, coming from everywhere in
Brazil.
Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies, and Pearls are only a few examples of rocks you'll see at the Gems National Museum. If you really like rocks and jewels this is the place to go when visiting
Brasilia.
The Gems National Museum is located on the 25th floor in the panoramic room of the
TV Tower
in Brasilia. Along with enjoying the jewels and rocks you can also admire the view of the city from 740 feet (224 meters) up.
