Brasilia National Park
Brasilia Parks
Brasilia National Park was founded on November 29, 1961. It's located in an area of 69,000 acres (28,000 hectares). The climate is really dry during 4 months of the year, the normal temperature is 75 F (24 C) but it can reach 108 F (42 C) during the summer and 46 F (8 C) during winter.
Brasilia National Park is also known as Parque de Agua Mineral (Mineral Water Park) due to the existence of two pools of mineral water which are believed to have healing powers. The park contains two hiking/walking trails: Capivara - a 20 minute trail, and the Cristal - an hour long trail. This park is extremely beautiful with its lush undergrowth, natural springs, and huge big trees. When you visit this park you feel as though you're in the middle of a forest but really you're in the center of
Brasilia!
To get to the Park leaving from Brasilia Bus Station you have to drive through the Monumental Eixo going west, then turn right on DF-003 until you are able to see the signs to the park. At the time of writing tickets are R$3.00 approximately $1.25 US.
If you're looking to visit the Park but want to avoid the rush, I suggest going during the week. Weekends can be very busy.
