At the beaches in Brazil, it’s very common to see vendors selling corn. This corn tastes so good while relaxing in the sun, in between swims in the warm ocean. Corn is called milho in Portuguese so when you find yourself a little hungry while enjoying the beautiful Brazilian beaches, look for a vendor with the sign milho on his cart. The cost of this is approximately $2 Reals, a very affordable price.

For those of you interested in learning more about Brazilian culture and Brazilian history, Sao Paulo is the city to visit. Sao Paulo is rich with cultural attractions, museums, and libraries.
In this picture you see the Memorial of Latin America which was founded in 1988.The Memorial grounds are filled with Latin American artwork and sculptures. The most impressive of which is a giant hand known as Mao. This hand stands 23 feet (7 meters) high with an open palm dripping blood, which symbolizes the contrast of peoples lives throughout Latin America.

In this picture you can Gavea Rock, which is located in Rio de Janeiro between Sao Conrado and Barra da Tijuca neighborhoods. It is a very popular attraction for hikers, or anyone who enjoys a great view. The most fascinating thing about this rock is that people believe there is a face carved into it, like a South American Sphinx. Some believe it to be false, but others think that it may be an ancient burial tomb for one of the Phoencians kings.

Photo of Paradise Water Park located in Arraial D’Ajuda in the city of Porto Seguro, Bahia. In this picture you can see the gorgeous ocean at Trancoso Beach. This picture was taken last summer while I was spending my vacation time in Brazil. I remember seeing this place completely packed with all those people wearing brazilian bikinis.

When you are in Rio de Janeiro you will hear a lot the words “Cidade Maravilhosa,” or “Marvelous City”. The reason for that is because that’s how this beautiful location is called by Brazilians. Rio is located in the south-eastern corner of Brazil, just east of Sao Paulo and it’s the most famous tourist destination in Brazil.
In this picture you can see a beautiful view of Rio de Janeiro, which is now reaching over 40 degrees almost every day during the summer time in Brazil. Rio is just getting ready to receive tones of tourists coming from all over the world to the most popular brazilian celebration, the Carnival. For the year of 2005 the Carnival celebration will be held in the first week of February, the 5th through to the 8th.

This picture shows one of many beautiful landscapres found in Recife. Recife is the fourth largest city in Brazil as well as one of the most popular tourist destinations. Recife means reef in english, and the city developed this name due to the numerous coral reefs that surround the city.

Here you see a place called Porto de Galinhas, which is located in Recife, Brazil. This picture was taken when I was visiting the nature pools located in the middle of the coral reefs in Porto de Galinhas. This is a very interesting and beautiful place. There I could swim among colorful fish, and feed them with the fish food that was given to the tourists.

Recife is the capital of Pernambuco State in Brazil. Porto de Galinhas, which is located in Recife, is a very popular tourist destination due to the beauty of the beaches and natural pools located in the middle of the coral reefs. This picture shows how you are able to walk around the reefs and see the fish that are swimming in the many pools.

This picture shows the immense size of the largest favela also known as slum in Latin America with over 200,000 inhabitants living in an area of less than 8000 sqft (743 square meters. The Favela of Rocinha is located in the neighborhoods of Gavea and Sao Conrado in Rio de Janeiro. I travelled into this favela, but I was sure to travel with a group. It can be a dangerous place to travel alone, or without a tour guide company. It is well worth the price to take a tour of Favela Rocinha. You will most likely see some amazing sights that you have never seen before.

Here you see a picture taken in the city of Natal which is a really popular destination located in Rio Grande do Norte State in Brazil. Imagine waking up to see this gorgeous landscape right outside your hotel window. Brazil is a very large country and anywhere you decide to go you will see beautiful and unique things.
