This picture shows the immense size of the largest favela also known as slum in Latin America with over 200,000 inhabitants living in an area of less than 8000 sqft (743 square meters. The Favela of Rocinha is located in the neighborhoods of Gavea and Sao Conrado in Rio de Janeiro. I travelled into this favela, but I was sure to travel with a group. It can be a dangerous place to travel alone, or without a tour guide company. It is well worth the price to take a tour of Favela Rocinha. You will most likely see some amazing sights that you have never seen before.
