Maresias Brazil
Sao Paulo Beaches
Maresias, located in the northeast corner of São Paulo State, is known as the
Copacabana of
São Paulo.
It's approximately 108 miles (174 km) from São Paulo, and its location - sandwiched between São Paulo and
Rio de Janeiro,
makes it the most visited stretch of land in the area. Yearly Maresias receives thousands of tourists and visitors from all over Brazil and from around the world. What's more, in Maresias you have a very good chance of spotting a Brazilian celebrity! This beach is one of the many spots celebrities choose to spend their vacation while away from the movie shoots, soccer fields, or performing arts theaters.
Maresias is one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. It is a jewel surrounded by the thick lush Atlantic Rainforest, which contrasts heavily with the soft white sparkle of the beach. It's here where many experienced surfers come to get their adrenaline rush from riding the huge ocean swells, which Maresias is well known for. In fact it was the surfers who first discovered Maresias about 20 years ago.
Today Maresias is a popular tourist destination, the community just off the beach is filled with many great restaurants, pubs & bars, hotels, and
feirinhas.
If you're interested in checking out the nightlife in Maresias, the best place to go is the Sirena Club. Here they play popular music and can attract crowds as large as 3200 people on the weekends and during the Carnival holiday.
