March 25th Street
My Shopping Experience
I enjoyed
March 25th Street
so much that I returned a few times. I'm one who believes you just can't have enough bracelets, rings, or necklaces, and I was in 7th heaven purchasing all the jewelry I could at very affordable prices. I also went by Jose Paulino Street to pick-up some wonderful Brazilian clothes for my family and friends back home.
My first trip to March 25th Street I quickly learned that many of the merchants can't (or won't) make change over $10 reals. Therefore I would recommend brining small bills, nothing larger than $10 reals. Also keep a tight hand on your purse or wallet, there are many thieves along the crowded streets.
During my return visits to March 25th Street, I developed something of a habit purchasing coconut milk for street side vendors. It was really fresh and tasted amazing straight out of the coconut!
