The beaches in this city are wonderful and there's always so much to do, including: swimming, surfing, diving, and for those who dislike tan lines - nude tanning.
Strong Beach, or "Praia do Forte", is the most popular beach in Cabo Frio. This beach is crowded day and night so it's important to get there before noon to secure a good spot for your beach umbrella. During the day Strong Beach is a gorgeous place to relax by the surf and appreciate the cool breeze as it sweeps in from the Atlantic Ocean. Then at night, it's time to party! With Brazilian music filling the air, the night at Strong Beach continues into the wee hours of the morning.
Angry Beach, or "Praia Brava," is the place to be if your a skilled surfer. This beach has huge crashing waves, making it a popular destination for surfers. If you enjoy surfing but are not yet confident of your abilities, this isn't the beach for you. Instead you'll want to stick to Strong Beach. Access to Angry Beach is difficult, as a result it's not very busy. Perhaps this is why Angry Beach is also known as Nude Beach. There's commonly a nude community at Angry Beach; if you're comfortable tanning nude then it's an excellent opportunity to sunbath and avoid tan lines.
Another attraction Cabo Frio has to offer is sailboat tours. These tours are available throughout the day. However, if you're looking to sail the entire day you should get there early in the morning. Although, the afternoon tours are nice too, they allow you to enjoy the sunset over the ocean.
