Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge
“JK Bridge”
Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge (JK Bridge) is located over the
Paranoá Lake
in the
city of Brasilia.
The bridge was created on December 15, 2002 by Brazilian architect Alexandre Chan, from
Rio de Janeiro.
The bridge was built such that it would match with the other beautiful and sophisticated buildings of this modern city.
The Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge has three distinctive arches, and its curve design was intentionally made to avoid a “boring travel” for drivers and pedestrians along the bridge. This unique layout promotes different city and lake views, as well as discourages high speed driving.
JK Bridge is known as the “ 24 hour show”; at anytime of the day you can see either a wonderful sunrise or sunset behind low hills, or you can appreciate the sunlight reflecting in the waters of Paranoá Lake. If visiting Brasilia make sure you include JK Bridge on your route. The scenic view of and from the bridge makes for an amazing experience.
