São Paulo

Land of Rain

São Paulo is located in the south-eastern corner of Brazil, in the state of São Paulo. The population of São Paulo is approximately 18 million, making it the largest city in South American and one of the largest cities in the world. To São Paulo's residents the city is known as "Terra da Garoa," or "Land of Rain." This name is well deserved as it usually rains a lot during the first 3 months of the year, especially in São Paulo.

Throughout Brazil, São Paulo is considered the greatest metropolis. This great city is particularly famous for Paulista Avenue; its magnificent churches, museums, and cultural events; its soccer teams (Corinthians, Palmeiras, São Paulo, and Santos); and the São Paulo (Brazil) Carnival. Many come to São Paulo to work and enjoy its many attractions.

Domino (Art Glass Centerpiece)

This centerpiece of pristine elegance is the unique creation of Pedro Mauricio Rocha. The piece is crafted by hand of fused glass. Color is trapped between the glass slabs - creating the illusion of an ephemeral domino game.

Leather Mask, White Horse

Leather Mask, White Horse

Proud and knowing, a white horse becomes a theater mask in the hands of Marcílio Barroco. He shapes the whimsical image of leather, realistically adding gray shadows and a perky forelock. As an archetype, the horse symbolizes power and virility. The piece is signed with the artist's characteristic symbol and features an elastic band.
