Rio Beaches
Copacabana, Ipanema & 70 More!
The two major
Rio beaches
are
Copacabana and
Ipanema.
Both of these beaches are centrally located in
Rio de Janeiro
and very easy to get to. They are located south of
the city of Rio and stretch for miles, with Copacabana alone stretching over 3 miles! There are so many activities to enjoy at these Rio beaches that you'll find you don't have time for it all. Anything from foot volleyball or beach soccer, to
frescobol
or simply
sunbathing,
you always have something to do.

You may even choose to enjoy Rio beaches at night. Many visitors like to stroll along the beach and listen to the surf, enjoy star gazing, or even join in on a Luau (gathering of people around a fire signing to a guitar). Just bring a towel, your favorite drink, and listen to some great Brazilian music - you'll have a wonderful time.
Some of my favorite
Rio beaches
include:
Copacabana,
Ipanema,
Leme,
Arpoador,
Botafogo,
Leblon,
Barra de Tijuca,
Prainha,
Grumari, and
Sao Conrado.
