Summer in Rio

Brazil Summer

Brazil's summer begins in November and lasts through to April. During these months the weather is extremely hot, with many days averaging 40C (104F) degrees, and nights averaging 25C (77F). It's during these summer months when most people visit Rio de Janeiro.

Rio is a popular city among international tourists and the population of the city increases immensely during summer months. Making the beaches in and around Rio extremely crowded - you won't be the only gringo! Gringo is a slang used in Brazil to refer to someone from another country. In many parts of Brazil it's rare to see 'gringos', but not in Rio de Janeiro.
